Ya tenemos la primera fecha de concierto para el 2006. Placebo estará compartiendo la cabeza del cartel del Isle of Wight Festival con The Prodigy este próximo verano. El concierot tendrá lugar en Junio, del 9 al 11 en Seaclose Park, Newport-UK. Placebo, The Prodigy y Goldfrapp tocarán el viernes, día de apertura del festival.

Placebo will co-headline the Isle of Wight Festival alongside with The Prodigy next summer. The Festival will take place in Seaclose Park, Newport-UK, from Friday 9th June to Sunday 11th June. Placebo, The Prodigy and Goldfrapp will be on stage the first night of festival.

Según la tienda ‘online’ HMV, el nuevo disco de Placebo saldría a la venta el 13/03/2006, con el titulo aún por confirmar; ya se puede incluso encargar por anticipado.

Placebo han terminado de grabar canciones para el nuevo album, tienen ya 15 temas, la remezcla del album la llevará acabo Flood, quien es bien conocido por sus trabajos con grupos como Depeche Mode, U2, New Order, Nine Inch Nails…

Como ya se comentó antes la producción del disco ha estado a cargo de Dimitri Tikovoi, el hombre detrás de Trash Palace, que ya ha trabajado con Placebo antes en temas como ‘Running up that hill’ y ‘The ballad of Melody Nelson’.

El nuevo album tendrá alguna sorpresa como 2 duetos con dos cantantes americanos, y se espera que salga a principios del año que viene.

Placebo have already 15 new songs recorded, they are gonna mix the album with Flood, who is well known for working with bands like Depeche Mode, U2, New Order, Nine Inch Nails…

The album as was said before has been produced by Dimitri Tikovoi, the man after Trash Palace, who had already worked with Placebo in songs like ‘Running up that hill’ and ‘The ballad of Melody Nelson’.

The new album will include surprises as 2 duets with 2 american singers and it’s expected to be released in the begining of the new year.

New Album :: Nuevo Disco ::

Según la revista inglesa Kerrang Placebo están dando los últimos retoques al que será su nuevo disco. Ya han terminado de grabar y han hecho el disco en solamente 8 semanas.

El disco saldrá el año que viene con un single que lo precederá a principios de año.

According to Kerrang Magazine Placebo are finishing touches to their next album. They have just finished recording and did the album in just eight weeks.

The album will be released next year featuring a first single at the begining of the year.

Stefan ha colaborado con el grupo sueco United haciendo un remix de una canción llamada ‘Kinship’.

Stefan y David X ya hicieron bajo el nombre de Material un remix para ‘I Do’ incluída en la edición especial para México de ‘Once More With Feeling’.

Esta remezcla está disponible gratuitamente en la web oficial del grupo. United.

Por otro lado Brian ha trabajado en el último disco del grupo francés Indochine, el album saldrá en Diciembre. Brian ha escrito y puesto su voz en la versión inglesa de la canción ‘Pink Water’. Indochine.

Stefan has collaborated with the Sweden band United in a remix for a song called ‘Kinship’. Under the name of Material Stefan and David X already made a remix for ‘I Do’, included in the Mexico Special Edition of ‘Once More with Feeling’ .

Otherwise Brian has worked in the new album of the french band Indochine, this album will be released next December. Brian has written and sung the english version of the song ‘Pink Water’. Indochine.

There’s no greater indication of Timo’s desire to evolve as an artist that his forthcoming second album ‘Pictures’, released on Warners/Hope Recordings. ‘Pictures’ captures the essence of what made his debut production album ‘Loud’ so important and yet evolves in such as a way as to confront the norms of what dance music should represent in 2005. It also features guest appearances from Kelis, Neneh Cherry and Placebo’s Brian Molko.

El mayor indicio del deseo de Timo para desenvolverse como un artista es su inminente segundo trabajo ‘Pictures’, realizado en Warners/Hope Recordings. ‘Pictures’ capta la esencia de lo que fue su primer álbum, ‘Loud’. Esta esencia es tan importante que sigue evolucionando como una forma de rebelarse a las normas que la música dance representa en 2005. También encontramos artistas invitados como Kelis, Neneh Cherry y el miembro de Placebo Brian Molko.

The eclectic approach of ‘Pictures’ and the sheer strength of its music prove Timo’s point. The insistent rhythms and irresistible hook of the first single, ‘First Day’, is as addictive as the best of Timo’s work, whilst the inimitable vocals of Brian Molko interplay perfectly with those of newcomer Jo Kate (“she’s so talented and has a great vibe”). Sure, it’s dance music, but its creativity and originality breathe fresh vitality into the genre.

La propuesta ecléctica de ‘Pictures’ y la transparente fuerza de su música nos prueba la intención de Timo. Los insistentes ritmos y el irresistible gancho del primer single, “First Day”, es tan adictivo como el mejor trabajo de Timo, que cuenta con la inimitable voz de Brian Molko entrelazandose con la nueva invitada, Jo Kate (“ella tiene mucho talento y tiene un timbre genial”). Seguro, es música dance, pero su creatividad y originalidad respira una fresca vitalidad en este género.

“The most important thing is that the power and the energy of the music fits the power and energy of the vocals”, he emphasises. “Also the lyrics and the whole package must be perfect. When you have a strong song, you need a strong vocalist”.

Timo and Martin invested a huge amount of time in finding the ideal vocalist for their work. Molko was a natural choice; having first met when Timo remixed ‘Special K’, the trio have maintained a strong friendship as well as developing an artistic connection. Aside from ‘First Day’, Molko also guests on the album’s title-track as well as ‘Like Siamese’. Timo and Martin have also been working with the band, which he considers “one of the coolest in the world”, on their forthcoming studio album.

Timo y Martin invirtieron mucho tiempo en encontrar al vocalista ideal para su trabajo. Molko fue una elección natural; Timo tuvo su primer encuentro cuando remezclo “Special K”, el trío ha mantenido una fuerte amistad así como han desarrollado una conexión artística. Aside from Molko, there’s a plethora of other vocalists who create a rich tapestry of sounds. Having collaborated on ‘Help Me’, one of the highlights of Timo’s debut album, Kelis (“she’s to r&b and hip-hop what we are to dance music… she’s a genre within herself”) reprises here role by adding her sensual vocal gift to ‘4 Ur Ears’. Neneh Cherry guests on ‘High Drama’, a song originally written for P. Diddy’s long overdue dance album, and the ethereal, dreamlike qualities of her voice help to provide one of the strongest tracks that Timo has ever worked on.

Timo is renowned for his remix work on classic crossover hits such as ‘Doom’s Night’ and ‘Mama Konda’, as well as being in demand for mainstream work for the likes of Madonna, Fatboy Slim, Tori Amos, Kelis, and more recently, Depeche Mode’s ‘Enjoy The Silence’ and Placebo’s ‘Twenty Years’. With ‘Pictures’ now completed, Timo is excited by the offers of remix work that continue to flood in.
