Han publicado en Placeboworld un reportaje con algunos videos e imágenes del concierto que Placebo dió en Cambodia dentro del MTV EXIT. El concierto se emitirá internacionalmente en los canales de la MTV en el próximo año 2009. Mientras tanto disfrutaremos de los videos y fotos publicados por Placeboworld en tan emblemático entorno.

El próximo sábado 27 de Diciembre Bionic-club organiza una fiesta en Polyester Bar (Travesía de San Mateo 10, Madrid) en la que nos despediremos de 2008 con la mejor música de los chicos de Placebo y Hotel Persona. Recordaremos los buenos momentos que hemos tenido este año con el álbum y gira de Hotel Persona y., ¿qué mejor forma de hacerlo que con el sorteo de material promocional de Hotel Persona? También haremos un recorrido por toda la discografía de Placebo para ir calentando motores para 2009 en que tendremos nuevo álbum de Placebo y de momento dos fechas confirmadas. Esperamos ver por allí muchas caras amigas. De momento os dejamos con el último vídeo de Hotel Persona, "To the Light" y enlace a su myspace donde han publicado nuevos remixes que también escucharemos en la fiesta.

Bionic-club will be giving a party, at Polyester Bar (Travesía de San Mateo 10, Madrid) next December 27, to say bye to the year with the best music of Placebo and Hotel Persona. We will remember the best moments of this year with the album and tour of Hotel Persona and we will have a lot of Hotel Persona promo gifts to give away in the party. We will go over Placebo's discography too to prepare ourselves for 2009's new album, and for now, for the 2 confirmed dates. We hope to see around many bionic friends. Por fin pudimos escuchar en directo la primera entrevista que Brian Molko ha concedido a Steve Lamacq en BBC Radio Station 6Music en la que ha dejado entrever algunas novedades sobre el sexto álbum de Placebo así como la próxima actuación de la banda en Camboya. También relató su experiencia en el concierto tributo a Serge Gainsbourg el pasado mes de octubre.

Respecto al próximo álbum ha señalado que lo han grabado en Toronto puesto que fue allí donde encontraron a un productor que les interesara, David Bottrill (productor de dEUS, Muse, David Sylvian, Tool...). Brian señaló que la grabación de este álbum ha sido más relajada que la anterior, con más tiempo para evitar repetirse en las mismas cosas. Este álbum lo han centrado más en sí mismos que Meds, en el que tuvieron colaboraciones con otros artistas. Describió el álbum como menos oscuro que Meds; más duro y colorido aunque en ocasiones tierno. El productor Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, My Bloody Valentine, Curve...) está remezclando en estos momentos las canciones del álbum que quedará listo antes de Navidad y verá la luz en la primavera del año que viene. No dijo fecha exacta ni el título del álbum.

En cuanto a su próximo concierto en Camboya dijo que la banda estaba muy ilusionada por formar parte en un evento tan especial organizado por MTV Exit en la campaña contra el tráfico humano además de ser un lugar tan emblemático en un país tan exótico como Camboya en el que Placebo no había actuado antes.

También hizo mención a la fantástica experiencia que había sido para él haber actuado en el concierto homenaje a Serge Gainsbourg ya que fue la primera vez que cantó con una orquesta sinfónica al completo.

En general se escuchó a Brian muy entusiasmado, emocionado y feliz con el momento actual de la banda y el trabajo que están realizando. Esperemos que pronto nos vayan comentando más novedades sobre el próximo álbum.

We could listen yesterday, live on air, the first interview Brian Molko has given with some little news about Placebo's 6th album to Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio Station 6Music. He also talked about their forthcoming gig in Cambodia and about his experience on Serge Gainsbourg tribute show last month.

Regarding the new album he said that they recordered it in Toronto, where they had found a productor they were interested in, David Bottrill (productor of dEUS, Muse, David Sylvian, Tool..). Brian pointed out that they were more relaxed recording this album than recording Meds, with more time for not 'to come over and over the same stuff '. This album is more focused on themselves than the previous one, in which they had collaborations with other artists. He described the album as less dark than Meds, colorful, heavier and some times tender. The producer Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, My Bloody Valentine, Curve..) is now mixing the songs, it will be ready before Christmas and will be out in the Spring of 2009. He didn't say nor the specific date for the release of the album neither the title.

About the MTV EXIT gig in Cambodia, he said that the band felt very fortunate for taking part in such a special event against the human trafficking, and for playing in such an emblematic place in a country Placebo never had played before.

He also mentioned the fantastic experience that had been for him to be in the Serge Gainsbourg tribute show because it had been the first time he had sung with an orchestra.

Generally he seemed to be very enthusiastic and happy with the current moment of Placebo and with the album they are working in. We hope they will let us know more about the new album soon.

PLACEBO - THE RETURN!

Placebo are back in the studio working on a new album! The band finished their last touring campaign in September of last year in the USA (on the Projekt Revolution tour with Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance). Since then the band have taken some much needed time out and over the past couple of months have been hard at work writing and demoing new material in London. The boys are now recording with producer David Bottrill (the man behind Tool’s ‘Aenima’, ‘Salival’ and ‘Lateralus’ albums, Silverchair’s ‘Diorama’ and dEUS ‘The Ideal Crash’). Engineering the album is James Brown who worked with the band on ‘Meds’.

...And on the drums with Placebo...?????!!!!! Introducing... Mr Steve Forrest! Hailing from Modesto, California, he was previously the drummer with American rock band, ‘Evaline’. Some of you may have spotted Steve playing with Evaline supporting Placebo on their US tour in October '06.
